"Michelle Redfearn is a mother of four, a dedicated LPS volunteer, and a PhD nurse who teaches pediatric nursing courses at Regis University. Her eldest three children graduated from Arapahoe High, and her youngest child will graduate from Arapahoe this spring. All of her children also attended Sandburg Elementary and Powell Middle School. Michelle began volunteering in LPS in 2005 when her eldest was a kindergartener, and she has both served on and led an incredible number of school-based committees over the years. She has also served on the LPS PTO Presidents’ Council. Because she teaches courses at Regis University, Michelle innately understands the challenges and opportunities experienced in our schools every day, the importance of manageable class sizes for teachers and manageable caseloads for special service providers, and the vital role that public schools play in preparing all students for the career paths that they hope to pursue. If elected to the school board, Michelle is committed to learning as much as she can, as quickly as she can, about district-level issues, and she is also committed to bringing a common-sense approach to the challenges and opportunities in LPS."
